This course offers important information on how to manage the GDV patient; starting with assessing and stabilizing the patient; decompressing the stomach; sedation and anesthesia as well as what to expect and do in surgery and how to perform an incisional gastropexy. The section on case selection will help one stay out of trouble.

Hind limb amputations are performed for a variety of reasons. In this workshop the indications and their appropriate level of amputation are explored. The mid-femoral and disarticulation amputations are discussed in detail and have accompanying narrated videos of the procedures.

Dr Nancy Brock (Diplomate ACVAA) discusses stabilizing and safely sedating or anesthetizing this often tricky patient. Finally there is a detailed description on how to do the Perineal Urethrostomy surgery, how to prepare and what to expect; and, a fully narrated video of the surgery itself.
