Of course there is more than 1 way to make a donut for a bandage. In this short presentation I demonstrate two ways.
Donuts are really important to help protect those protuberances, especially in those fine hair. thin skin, bony patients (like the Italian greyhound) and you will be needing to bandage for several weeks to protect a large wound on a limb or immobilize a fracture with a splint.
In our surgical practice we applied many bandages and a donut can take a bit of time to make; so the RVTs and Animal Care Attendants would make an array of donuts of various sizes when there was a bit of down time.
