Bandage Forms for Function

The form of the bandage dictates its function.  An orthopedic bandage’s main function is usually to, maybe immobilize a limb.  A wound management bandage mainly needs to keep a wound clean, protect it from the environment and maybe absorb exudate.  The bandage layers (contact, padding, compression and protection) will vary according to the specific function it needs to fulfill, but the order in which the layers are applied is ALWAYS the same.  Watch the video for more details on how to apply the various layers to create different functions.
