Easy technique for bandaging a dog’s paw.

In this video Dr Sylvestre demonstrates a simple and easy-to-remember technique for bandaging a dog’s paw. It is very important to always apply the bandage layers in proper order and to pay attention to the tension applied to the compressive layer.

It is more difficult to monitor the comfort level with a paw bandage because the entire paw, all the toes, are incorporated within the bandage, taking away the two toes that we usually leave out of the bandage as a barometer for the comfort, tension, health of the bandage. This means that closer attention must be paid to what the pet is telling us as well as how the bandage feels, looks and smells. Of course, this technique can also be used on cats.
